Acceptable Use Policy

Guidelines on how to use Markella responsibly and fairly.

Markella is NOT affiliated with WJEC, EDUQAS, or any exam board. All content is independent and used solely for educational practice.

Permitted Use

Markella is designed for personal, educational use only. This includes:

  • Practising for GCSE and A-Level exams using our mock papers and exam drills.
  • Revising topic-specific content aligned with WJEC specifications.
  • Using the AI Help feature for guidance and explanations on academic concepts.
  • Uploading your own study materials for assistance.
Prohibited Use

The following activities are not permitted when using Markella:

  • Using the AI to complete coursework, assignments, NEA, or any assessed work intended for submission to an exam board or school.
  • Sharing your account, login details, or credits with another person.
  • Copying, distributing, reselling, or republishing any Markella content (including questions, revision materials, or AI responses).
  • Using automated scripts, bots, or scraping tools to extract content from the platform.
  • Abusing, spamming, or using offensive language in the AI Help or any contact form.
  • Attempting to bypass usage limits, security measures, or platform restrictions.
Account Security

You are responsible for keeping your account secure. This means:

  • Not sharing your login email or any verification codes with others.
  • Contacting us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
  • Not creating more than one account to circumvent usage limits.
Fair Use of AI

The AI Help is designed to help you learn, not to do the work for you. Fair use guidelines:

  • Use the AI Help to understand concepts, not to get final answers to copy.
  • Do not attempt to trick the AI into generating full coursework, essays, or assignments.
  • Each plan includes monthly AI credit limits. Unused credits cannot be transferred to the next month.
Intellectual Property

All Markella content — including AI-generated questions, revision materials, and mark schemes — belongs to Markella. You are granted a personal, non-transferable licence to use it for your own studies. This licence does not permit redistribution, sale, or publication of the content.

Consequences of Violations

If a user violates this policy, we may take one or more of the following actions:

  • A warning via email.
  • Temporary suspension of AI Help access.
  • Permanent suspension or deletion of the account without refund.

We reserve the right to take legal action if the violation involves intellectual property theft or significant misuse of the platform.

This policy exists to keep Markella fair, safe, and beneficial for all students. Last updated: March 2026.
